As you may be aware there have been a number algorithm changes made by Google recently and I thought it might be helpful to explain what they are about.
In the last few weeks we have seen the June 2021 core update roll out between June 2 and June 12, then the page experience update started to roll out on June 15. This one will continue to roll out through to the end of August. We are also expecting another core update next month, imaginatively named “the July 2021 core update”. Even last weekend we saw a bit of a ranking tremor in our clients search engine ranking positions which now seem to have settled down.
Many people ask why are core updates so much more impactful than the page experience updates? It might help to explain the key differences in these updates:
So when it comes to wanting to really do well in the Google search results, organically that is, you need to make sure that your site is of the highest quality and that your content is better than everyone else’s for your chosen keyword phrases.
