In the last few weeks we have seen the June 2021 core update roll out between June 2 and June 12, then the page experience update started to roll out on June 15. This one will continue to roll out through to the end of August. We are also expecting another core update next month, imaginatively named “the July 2021 core update”. Even last weekend we saw a bit of a ranking tremor in our clients search engine ranking positions which now seem to have settled down.
Many people ask why are core updates so much more impactful than the page experience updates? It might help to explain the key differences in these updates:
- Core updates are about quality and relevance of your web page content
- Page Experience updates are more about how your website is built and have no interest in whether your page content is relevant of the best answer to a query made by a searcher – they just measure the technical makeup of the site, but not the content.
So when it comes to wanting to really do well in the Google search results, organically that is, you need to make sure that your site is of the highest quality and that your content is better than everyone else’s for your chosen keyword phrases.
How fast or smooth your site loads remains important but it is nowhere near as important to your search engine rankings as Google’s relevancy and quality algorithms. If you would like to know more about how we can help you improve your organic search engine ranking call us on 07785 308295 or use the Contact Page.
